Class Descriptions

Buti

Buti, in Indian Marathi, means the cure to something hidden or kept secret. This
practice is a high-intensity fusion of yoga, tribal dance, and plyometrics. Classes
combine cardio, strength training and flexibility in one seamless format. All formats incorporate elements of shaking+vibration to help release stored trauma and stimulate cellular reorganization. Buti creates a strong, empowered group that resembles a tribe.

Cross Train Yoga

A 60 minute class that allows you to get your whole workout in one. The class starts with a 15 minute power yoga warm-up, followed by 20 minutes of high-intensity strength training and cardio using weights, bands and your own body. The class finishes with a 25 minute deep yoga stretch and meditative relaxation. Cross-Train Yoga is suitable for all-levels. The instructor will provide plenty of options to ensure your workout is safe as well as efficient.

Deep Stretch

Participants will love this yin/restorative practice of yoga that is open to all levels. We live in a world that is very yang. Using a more balanced approach, yin and yang complement and build on one another. This class is great to reduce stress, sooth and calm. The attention is placed on slow moving postures held for 1 – 5 minutes that will help with flexibility by targeting connective tissue and muscles.

Enlighten Flow

Hatha

Hatha Yoga is often slower moving than a Power Yoga practice but it can still be challenging, stimulating or soft, depending on the level of practice. This is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga. Students of all levels are empowered to experience prana – the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence – as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Practitioners learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa yoga and the state of flow.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment to address the unique needs of moms-to-be. The class will focus on preparing for birth, connecting with other moms-to-be, and breath-work and postures to help relieve pregnancy aches and pains.

Restorative

Participants will love this yin/restorative practice of yoga that is open to all levels. We live in a world that is very yang. Using a more balanced approach, yin and yang complement and build on one another. This class is great to reduce stress, sooth and calm. The attention is placed on slow moving postures held for 1 – 5 minutes that will help with flexibility by targeting connective tissue and muscles.

Slow Flow and Meditation

In our busy lives, it’s important to take time to slow down. This class combines a yoga flow with pranayama and meditation. We will flow from pose to pose, linking our movement with the breath, to help us slow down and become aware of and appreciate the present moment. Each class includes meditation to integrate conscious relaxation into our practice and to learn a variety of accessible meditation techniques. All levels are welcome!

Yin

This class blends stretching, Pratapan (gentle, simple movements) and restorative poses with a focus on relaxing into the deepest layers of the body. Explore soothing and well-supported poses using soft blankets, blocks, straps, and bolsters, to open the body gently, yet deeply. Improve joint flexibility, free stagnation in the muscle tissue, lubricate the joints and foster a quiet, meditative state. All levels are welcome, no previous experience necessary.

Yin Yang Yoga

Slow flows, working through alignment cues, variations and modifications to best suit your practice. Added to this flow will be yin stretches toward the end to get deeper into the joints and connective tissue allowing for a nice cool down to your practice.

Yoga Mobility

The goal is not to experience extreme flexibility but rather mobility (free movement) to allow you to train injury free, recover from long training sessions and increase your mind-body connection as we learn about how breath can influence so much of your movement. We, as athletes (anyone who intentionally moves their body), ask our bodies to perform regularly at a high level. Learn to give back to your body and show it some love!

Yoga Therapy 101

Generally speaking, all yoga is therapy, but this class allows us to explore several styles and techniques to bring us into a more harmonious state of being. Incorporating yin, restorative, movement, breath-work meditation and more (not all in the same class) this time allows us to cultivate the mind/body connection at a slow nourishing pace.

Zen In the Art of Tai Chi

Tai Chi, which originated in China as a martial art, is a mind-body practice in complementary alternative medicine (CAM). Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as “moving mediation” because practitioners move their bodies slowly, gently and with awareness, while breathing deeply.
