RAC Member headed to the Mrs. Colorado Pageant

6 March, 2020

It’s hard to say no to your 13 year old sister.

When Landon Oldham’s little sister Paris, just off the cuff, told her she should model and be in beauty pageants she simply laughed it off. “It has just never been my sort of thing,” Landon said. But fate has a funny way of intervening and less than 48 hours after politely dismissing her sister’s childlike innocence, Landon saw an ad for the Mrs. Colorado Pageant. “I didn’t know such a thing existed,” she said.

One thing lead to another and with the Mrs. Larimer County title already under her belt, Landon is now busy preparing for the next step in April at Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Mrs. Colorado Pageant.

Landon is quick to pay homage to the RAC for helping her get started on her journey of pageant prep.

Her journey to even join the RAC did take some time. Landon explored different gyms in town and never felt comfortable in a “co-ed” gym before she stepped foot in the RAC’s doors. “It just has a different vibe,” she said. After initially joining Weight Watchers in 2010 and losing 40 pounds, the confidence came and so too did the desire to be at the gym on a more regular basis. As an added bonus, Landon would meet her (now) her husband, Sean, in a RAC BodyPUMP class.

Landon, who along with Sean just started their own photography business, lists weightlifting as one of her hobbies — among other things — and is getting ready for the pageant by training with RAC Trainer Brandon Brooks, with the hopes of toning and shaping her body even more.

She is entering the pageant with the knowledge that a majority of the first timers don’t win, and she is okay with that. “Don’t get me wrong, I have my goals set high and would love nothing more than to win,” she said. The fact that she is representing Larimer County and Fort Collins is a huge honor and there are certainly opportunities than can come from it.

If she wins Mrs. Photogenic, she would be offered a one year modeling contract. “That would be awesome,” she said.

We wish Landon all the best in preparing for this exciting event. We also encourage our members to say hello to Landon when you see her in the RAC.
